The most prestigious
event of the British polo calendar, set in Windsor Great Park at the Guards Polo
Club and sponsored by Cartier, the Gold Cup attracts many celebrities and
you’ll find the champagne tents heaving with thespians, models and captains of
industry.
Drawing the top players
and ponies from across the globe, the lists of participants for each game read
like a Who’s Who of polo. The Queen will be in attendance to present the
winning team with the Cup.
Dress Code – It is a good idea to keep in mind that there is no
covered seating and although you may not be traipsing out onto the field to tread
the divots, it is wise to remind others that stilettoes are not a good idea.
Smart casual is fine but if you are frequenting the Royal Box, members’ areas
or Cartier Marquee you should dress more smartly.
